  • A psychiatric evaluation is a comprehensive assessment of a person’s mental health, including symptoms, medical and mental health history, current stressors, and functioning. It will inform a diagnosis and help us develop an appropriate treatment plan, which may include therapy, medication, or other supports.

    This appointment lasts 60-90 minutes.

  • Psychotropic medication management is the process of prescribing, monitoring, and adjusting medications that affect mood, thinking, or behavior. We will work together to choose the right medication, track how well it’s working, manage side effects, and make changes as needed to support mental health and overall functioning.

    These appointments last 30-60 minutes.

  • Brief psychotherapy is a short-term, goal-focused form of therapy that will help address specific concerns, develop coping skills, and improve functioning.

Psychotherapy is rooted in all appointment types, recognizing the complexity of each individual’s needs.

  • Lab work is important in psychiatry because physical health and mental health are closely connected. Medical conditions, nutrient imbalances, hormones, and metabolic issues can influence mood, energy, cognition, and behavior, so lab testing helps identify underlying biological factors that may affect mental health and guide more accurate, whole-person treatment.

Genesight testing can also be utilized when appropriate. This testing is a pharmacogenetic test that analyzes how a person’s genes may affect their response to certain psychiatric medications. It helps make more informed medication choices by identifying which medications may be more effective or have fewer side effects based on genetic makeup.
